Book illustration festival underway at IAF

TEHRAN,Feb.14(MNA) -- The galleries of the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) has been hosting a book illustration festival since Sunday. The Iranian Artists Forum is hosting four exhibitions during the event which will run until February 17. An exhibit is dedicated to 250 works created by 60 members of the Iranian Association of Children’s Book Illustrators. A total of 60 illustrations by the renowned artist Farshid Mesqali are also on display at another showcase during the event. Another exhibit is showing 60 artworks created by celebrated illustrator Manuchehr Derafsheh (illustrator of school books during 1970s and 1980s). Sixty comic strip artworks are also on show during the event. Workshops on methods of design and storytelling in comic strips, and meetings on book illustrations for children and young adults are being held on the sideline of the event. On February 18, the closing ceremony of the festival will be held at the IAF during which book illustrators Farshid Mesqali and Manuchehr Derafsheh will be honored. The event aims to review and to introduce different aspects of illustration art, to extend the spiritual collaboration between members, to introduce new talent and to introduce illustration to officials and the public.
