Fajr filmfest announces lineup for international competition
TEHRAN,Jan.16(MNA) -- Fourteen films have found their ways into the international section of the 30th Fajr International Film Festival running in February this year, secretariat of the festival reported on Sunday.
Films from Canada, France, Spain, Norway, Sweden and Britain are seen on the list of movies competing in the international section, known as the Jaam-e Jahan-Nama Section, the Public Relations Office of the festival reported.
The Following is a list of the entries:
“18 Days” co-directed by Ahmad Abdallah, Sherif Arafa, Egypt
“The Abandoned” by Adis Bakrac, Bosnia and Herzegovina/Croatia/France
“Black Noise” by Behruz Afkhami, Iran
“The Eagle” by Kevin Macdonald, Britain/U.S.
“The Enemy” by Dejan Zecevic, Croatia/Bosnia and Herzegovina
“Erratum” by Marek Lechki, Poland
“King of Devil’s Island” by Marius Holst, Norway/Sweden/France/Poland
“London River” by Rachid Bouchareb, France/Algeria/Britain
“Mamma Gogo” by Fridrik Thor Fridriksson, Germany/Norway/Sweden/Britain
“Omar Killed Me” by Roschdy Zem, France
“Street Days” by Levan Koguashvili, Georgia
“Top Floor, Left Wing” by Angelo Cianci, France/ Luxemburg
“The Waves” by Alberto Morais, Spain
There is also another movie from America competing in this section. The name of the director is not mentioned in the report.
Three Iranian films are also expected in this section, the names of which will be announced later, the report added.
A board of selection comprised of Iranian producer Mehdi Homayunfar, filmmakers Mohammad Bozorgnia, Rasul Sadr-Ameli, and Shahram Asadi and Julien Pélissier from France have selected the entries for different international sections of the festival.
The Asian Cinema Section, Jaam-e Jahan-Nama Section, the Inter-Religion Section, and the Golden Flag (Beiraq Talaii), previously named the Moustapha Akkad Award, are some of the competitive sections of the festival.
