HRH Premier calls for the need to Bahraini-Russian relations

Manama, Dec. 6. (BNA) – His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has called for the need to enhance Bahraini-Russian relations through expanding the horizons of bilateral political and economic cooperation. He said that Bahrain is looking forward to increasing exchanged visits between officials in the two countries, enhancing areas of coordination at international gatherings and consolidating cooperation with Russia within the GCC framework. He also lauded Russia's supportive stances towards the kingdom. This came as HRH Premier received at his Palace in Riffa today the Special representative of the Russian Foreign Minister for Middle east and North Africa Affairs Sergey Vershinin, currently in Bahrain to take part in the tenth "Manama Dialogue". HRH Premier stressed the advanced level of Bahraini-Russian relations, noting that Bahrain is looking forward to enhancing bilateral cooperation and coordination at all levels. Sergey Vershinin welcomed the results of the recent parliamentary and municipal elections in the kingdom, which, he said, reflected the will of the Bahraini people. He also congratulated HRH Prince Khalifa on his re-appointment as Prime Minister, reiterating his country's confidence that the national march will continue with the new cabinet and Council of Representatives. The two sides agreed on the need to enhance cooperation on regional issues, especially the Palestinian one, and reject interference in internal affairs, which, they affirmed, have undermined stability in the region and paved the way for terror hotbeds to grow.
