Independence Day of Kazakhstan is celebrated in all regions
Astana, December 17, 2009 (Khabar) - Theater shows with participation of warriors, biys and khans, art expositions, fairs of craftsmen and concerts are held in the country’s cities. Kazakhstan’s residents have celebrated the Independence Day of the country in a big way, with thousands of Taldykorgan residents coming to the central square of the city. Traditionally the holiday started with the theatrical performance as part of which such outstanding figures of the past as Kabanbai, Nauryzbai, Raiymbek batyrs, law lords and zhyrau told about the century-long battle for independence and unity of this land.
Bolat Abagan, Taldykorgan resident:
- We achieved all this due to the independence and wise policy of the President. I congratulate everybody on Independence Day and wish happiness and well-being to all people.
Congratulating fellow countrymen with the holiday, the head of the region Serik Umbetov thanked residents of the Almaty region for their contribution for the flourishing of the country. Residents of the city saw the release of thousands of balloons with the “18 years of Kazakhstan’s independence” inscription.
Tamara Glumova, Taldykorgan resident:
- The main is flourishing of our homeland. This holiday, Independence Day tells about our achievements. People meet and celebrate Independence Day, they rejoice at achievements and successes of our homeland and city. And I am very happy with living in Kazakhstan.
Pavlodar residents celebrated this holiday near the quay of the Irtysh River. The city residents had enough reasons to be gay and merry. The weather is warmer today at last after several days of severe frost and all people are in bright mood.

- Everyone is in a good mood. I would like to congratulate all Kazakhstan residents on the Independence Day and wish them health, happiness and love.
The main holiday of the country united people of different nationalities and religions. Residents were singing and dancing together with artists, as well as participating in quizzes and sport contests. And coevals of country’s independence became the main heroes of the festivity. They were handed the passports of citizens of RK in honor of coming of age. Adults congratulated them on this event.
The “State symbols of the homeland” composition became the main decoration of the central square of Petropavlovsk, where a 50 metres flag, as well as the emblem and the anthem of Kazakhstan were fixed.

- Passing by, we are, older generation will always turn back and say: here are our symbols and everybody must know them. Independence Day of Kazakhstan is a wonderful holiday and 18th anniversary is day of coming of age. But I think Kazakhstan has much to do yet. I congratulate all the Kazakhstanis on Independence Day!
Residents of the city witnessed a military parade, as well as award ceremony of military men and students of military schools. From now on ceremony of oath taking and parades will take place at this Square of Symbols.
