Iran launches encyclopedia about Persian accents and dialects

TEHRAN,March 7(MNA) -- The Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia (CGIE) planned to compile and organize an encyclopedia about different Persian accents and dialects. The project, which is to contain 300 entries, has been inaugurated at the center and completion is planned over the next three years. The entries are defined and distributed among about 60 researchers however, some entries will be written by foreign researchers and then translated into Persian. Seyyed Mohammad Kazem Bojnordi, Sadeq Sajjadi, Jaleh Amuzegar, Ali-Ashraf Sadeqi, Hassan Rezaei, Mohammad-Taqi Mohassel and Behruz Mahmudi Bakhtiari are the academic members for this project. The project also covers dialects and accents of Iranians as well as Persian dialects in Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
