Iran ready to expand cultural ties with ASEAN

TEHRAN,March 10(MNA) -- Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini has said that Iran is ready to expand cultural ties with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). He spoke during a meeting at the ASEAN headquarters in Jakarta on Thursday evening. The ceremony was held during the Iranian cultural festival, which runs until March 13. The tie between the rich culture of Iran and the ASEAN organization would lead to a great change in the cultural world, Hosseini said. He said that Iran is an active member of many international societies and assemblies and has a crucial role in the cultural activities of that organization. The National Museum of Indonesia in Jakarta is hosting the event which runs until March 13. Some artists and cultural activists from Iran are holding several programs during the event and several Iranian films including “Prophet Joseph (AS)” by Farajollah Salahshur, “The Kingdom of Solomon” by director Shahriar Bahrani and “Third Day” by Mohammad-Hossein Latifi are scheduled to be screened during the festival.
