TEHRAN,Jan.29(MNA) -- The first travelogue on South Korea written by an Iranian is soon to be published in the country.
Iranian writer and translator Puneh Nedaii has brought together her nine trips to South Korea in the collection she has named “Land of Phoenix”.
Written in Persian, the book covers life and culture of the people of South Korea, its various cities and islands, and provides an opportunity for readers to become more familiar with the history, geography, art, culture, literature, costumes, and traditions of the country.
The pictorial book will be published by Amrood Publications in Tehran, which Nedaii herself runs.
The writer has previously translated a Korean folk tale entitled “Chung, Hyo, Ye”. The book is a collection of tales of filial devotion, loyalty, respect and benevolence taken from the history and folklore of Korea.
She has also been working on a translation from English into Persian of an anthology of short poems by South Korean poet Ko Un.
