Iranian cultural week underway in Venezuela

TEHRAN,March 11(MNA) -- The Iranian cultural artistic week is currently underway in art centers in Caracas, Venezuela. An exhibition of photography displaying 17 photos is currently being held under the title of “Iran after the Islamic Revolution” at the José Félix Ribas Hall of the Teresa Carreño Theater. Photos depicting Iran’s achievements during 33 years since the victory of the Islamic Revolution as well as landscapes from Tehran and northern city Lahijan are on display at the showcase. The Juana Sujo Chamber of the House of Artists in Caracas is hosting a showcase of paintings by Gholamreza Qolipur. The showcase has two parts; in one part, the traditional Persian paintings by Qolipur are going on display and in another section, his modern paintings are showcased. The Sabzineh traditional music ensemble also has some performances during the event at the José Félix Ribas Hall during which they will perform some folk and Iranian music with kamancheh, santur, tonbak and dohol. A mime theater troupe directed by Bahram Reyhani is also holding some performances during the event, which will run until March 12 in Caracas. The head of the delegation to Venezuela Asghar Amirnia mentioned the expansion of cultural relations between the two countries as the main reason for holding the event. “The welcoming of Iranian artists by audiences in Caracas surprises us,” he mentioned in a press release. He said that a number of artists active in various fields of art are participating in the event, which caters to different tastes.
