Iranian culture minister visits Beirut

TEHRAN,Jan.17 (MNA) – Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini travelled Beirut to attend the Iranian embassy’s congress of Islam and Christianity. The conference will be held on January 16 and 17 in Beirut with Muslim and Christian scholars from Palestine, Iraq, Syria, Egypt and Iran in attendance. After arriving Lebanon, he said that he intends to visit cultural and political figures of Lebanon and to attend the congress during his four-day sojourn in the country. He said that he would visit his Lebanese counterpart to discuss boosting of cultural and cinematic cooperation between the two parties. Lebanon’s minister of culture Tarek Mitri also expressed his happiness over the trip by Hosseini to Lebanon saying that the two countries aim to expand their cultural relations. Hosseini plans to visit the tomb of Hezbollah commander Imad Mughniyeh in Beirut to officially begin his trip to the country. He will also pay a visit to southern part of Lebanon during his sojourn.
