Iranian films awarded at Dhaka festival

TEHRAN,Jan.30(MNA) -- Three Iranian films were awarded at the Dhaka International Film Festival 2012 running from January 12 to 20. “The Bare Foot Leader” by Zohreh Zamani received the Best Documentary Award in Women Filmmakers Section. The Badal Rahman Award for the Children’s Section went to “Meadow” by Mohammad-Ali Talebi. “The Absence of Mr. and Mrs. B” by Reza Daryanush also won the Best Documentary Award of the Independent Section. Organizers of the festival also held a retrospective of new wave Iranian filmmaker Dariush Mehrjuii during its 12th edition. Iranian female filmmaker and producer Manijeh Hekmat was the chief jury of the Women Filmmaker Section. The festival was comprised of the following three categories: Australian Competition Section, Spiritual Section, and Women Filmmakers Section.
