Iranian vocalist Salar Aqili gives concerts in Europe

TEHRAN,Feb.6(MNA) -- London and Brussels hosted the performances of renowned emerging Iranian vocalist Salar Aqili accompanied by the Pardis orchestra on February 4 and 5. Conducted by Hamid Motebassem, the orchestra is composed of 40 foreign and Iranian virtuosos, Salar Aqili told . He said that all the pieces were composed by Hamid Motebassem on poems by Rumi, Siavash Kasraii and some other poets. The project made its debut for its international stage appearances at the London Cadogan Hall on February 4 and the day after they had a performance at the Wolubilis Theater Hall in Brussels, Belgium. “Music has the smallest portion of news in Iranian media which leads to obsolesce of music in the country,” he lamented. He said that there is no other means of introducing music other than through channels on satellite networks. “The young generation is interested in western musical instruments since they have seen them on satellite channels. However there is no reference point for introducing Persian instruments,” he added. Hessam Vahedi on percussion, Behzad Rushanpur on santur, Ramin Azimian on tar, Arman Sigarchi on barbat, Pejman Zahedian on bamtar are the Iranian virtuosos in the orchestra. Foreign members of the orchestra are Marina Tantanozi on flute, Sophie-Katrin Stahl on oboe, Vinesh Dijkstra on clarinet, Arben Ademi and Paloma Ortas on viola, Diethard Struelens and Marlies Elisabeth Muijzers on cello, and Ela Yatmaz on double-bass. Theo Mazajchik, Aleksandra Stadniczenko, Patrick Heckmanns, Wojciech Watras, Magdalena Barszcz and Joanna Malinowska accompanied the orchestra on violin.
