Iranian war story writers honored
TEHRAN,Nov. 23 (MNA) -- The jury of Iran’s Sacred Defense Book of the Year awards has announced that Alireza Naderi’s “Two Stories from Several Stories of Rahman” has won first prize in the screenplay section.
The 11th edition of the festival selected the winners during a ceremony held in Tehran on Monday at the Sacred Defense Garden Museum attended by Iranian Academy of Persian Language and Literature Director Gholamali Haddad-Adel and First Vice President Mohammadreza Rahimi.
In Iran, the Iran-Iraq war is called the Sacred Defense.
Winners were awarded in 15 different sections chosen from a collection of 419 books published in 2010.
“Child and Angel” by Mohammad-Hossein Gohari won second prize and “Komeil Canal” by Hossein Fadaii-Hossein won third prize in the screenplay section.
In the military research section, the second prize was given to “Mehran during Upheavals of the War” by Mehran Khodaverdi; and “Spring 2003” by Gol-Ali Babaii and “Physical Side Effects of the War” by Mohammad-Hossein Lashkari shared the third prize. No work was deemed worthy of the first prize in this section.
“White Cold” by Kaveh Bahman got the second prize in the story section and the third prize was given to “Bufari 4” by Mostafa Jamshidi. No first prize was given in this section.
In the verbal memories section, first prize was given to “The Alley of Painters” by Raheleh Saburi, second prize to “Soldier of Cloudy Years” by Qasem Yahosseini and third prize to “Black, White, Gray” by Sasan Nateq.
Puneh Nekuii’s “Green Pomegranate, Red Olive” received first prize in the poetry section, “Land of a Thousand Suns” by Salman Nezafat got the second prize and “Hot and Concerns” by Parvaneh Nejati won third prize.
