Izmir to host Iranian film festival

TEHRAN,Dec.19(MNA) -- A selection of Iranian films is scheduled to be screened during a five-day festival, which will begin in Turkey’s western city of Izmir today. The festival, which will be held at the Continuing Education Center of the Dokuz Eylul University, has been organized by Iran’s Visual Media Institute (VMI). “Tonight is a Moonlit Night” directed by Mohammad-Hadi Karimi, “Canaan” by Mani Haqiqi, “The Postman Doesn’t Knock Three Times” by Hassan Fat’hi and “Aal” by Bahram Bahramian are some of films in the collection, VMI announced in press release on Sunday. In addition, “The Day of the Devil” by Behruz Afkhami, “The Hidden Sense” by Mostafa Razzaq-Karimi, “Paradise Stop” by Nader Moqaddas, “The Lost Truth” by Mohammad Ahmadi, “Hell, Limbo, Heaven” by Bijan Mirbaqeri and “Prophet Joseph (AS)” by Farajollah Salahshur will be screened in the event. “The Lost Truth” star Hamid Farrokhnejad and director Mohammad Ahmadi have traveled to Izmir to promote the film during the festival. A panel of critics and experts is also scheduled to discuss the Iranian cinema. The festival has previously been held in the Turkish cities of Van, Bursa and Istanbul during this year.
