Jakarta to host Iranian cultural festival
TEHRAN,March 7(MNA) -- The National Museum of Indonesia in Jakarta will host an Iranian cultural festival from March 7 to 13.
Some artists and cultural activists from Iran will hold several programs during the event, Iran’s cultural attaché to Jakarta Mohammad-Ali Rabbani told .
He said that during the festival at the museum, the cultural ministries of the two countries would sign a plan for cultural exchanges to boost artistic and cultural cooperation over the next four years.
Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, and the Indonesian Center for the Study of Islam and Society will hold a seminar on the impact of Iranians on Islamic civilization at Jakarta’s Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University during the event, he added.
The head of Iran’s Islamic Thought Foundation Mehdi Goljan, the secretary of he High Council of Cultural Revolution Mokhber Dezfuli and the deputy director of the Islamic Culture and Relation Organization Mansur Etesami will give lectures during the seminar.
An Iranian night program will also be held at the headquarters of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) that will be attended by cultural figures and officials from the two countries, he mentioned.
Several Iranian films including “Prophet Joseph (AS)” by Farajollah Salahshur, “The Kingdom of Solomon” by director Shahriar Bahrani and “Third Day” by Mohammad-Hossein Latifi will go on screen during the festival, he said.
Rabbani said that during the festival, the cultural attaché’s office also plans to establish a joint cultural commission to boost relations between the two countries.
