MNA thanks ANTARA for pursuing OANA flag issue

TEHRAN, Jan. 21 (MNA) – In a letter to Director General of the Indonesian ANTARA News Agency Mukhlis Yusuf, Mehr News Agency (MNA) Director General Reza Moghadasi expressed his profound gratitude for following up the Organization of Asia-Pacific New Agencies (OANA) flag issue. In response to MNA Oct. & Dec. protest letters, Mukhlis Yusuf wrote a letter to Kemal Ozturk, the director general of the Turkish ANADOLU News Agency who is also the OANA president and called for respecting the approval of the organization’s pervious meetings. “Concerning its (MNA) proposal on the OANA flag design during the OANA 14th General Assembly in Istanbul in 2010 and the OANA 33rd Executive Board Meeting in Mongolia in June 2011, as the proposal was unanimously approved and agreed by the participants to the two esteemed OANA events, we humbly call on the OANA members to respectfully meet the approval and agreement,” Mukhlis Yusuf’s January letter to OANA president read. In his letter to Mukhlis Yusuf, the MNA director general appreciated tremendous efforts of the Indonesian news agency’s director general in line with reaching the OANA goals and expressed hope that all the member agencies will do their best to meet the approval and the agreement of the two OANA meetings held in Istanbul in 2010 and Mongolia in 2011.
