New hospital in Pavlodar region
Pavlodar, December 19, 2009 (Khabar) - The residents of Maiskiy district in Pavlodar region who suffered from nuclear explosions at the former Semipalatinsk test site, will now be able to receive a qualitative medical care. A new hospital is put into operation here. Medical complex has advanced equipment for diagnosis and treatment of various ailments. Almost the entire territory of Maiskiy district belonged earlier to the former Semipalatinsk nuclear test site. Local residents have seen a lot and the district was considered to be “depressive” one for a long time.
Things began to change after the refusing of our country from nuclear weapons. At the beginning of 2000 a railway line “Aksu-Kurchatov” was constructed here. Agriculture began to be revived and entrepreneurship developed. One year ago a new school was opened according to the program “100 schools, 100 hospitals” in the district center and today one more joyous event happened here.
Almyrza Akhmetov, a representative of the Veterans’ Council of Maiskiy district:
- It is a very important even for the residents of Maiskiy district because we experienced all the implications of nuclear explosions. And that is why it worth much what the state, and personally President Nazarbayev do for us.
This hospital was built with high quality and slowly for 2.5 years. The republican budget allocated one billion tenge for construction and purchasing of equipment. Governor of Pavlodar region is sure the conditions in this hospital does not concede the city conditions.
Bakytzshan Sagintaev, governor of Pavlodar region:
- Or maybe somewhere even better because the world-standard equipment was bought in Italy, Germany, in Japan. It is the best advanced equipment. All specialists are trained and there is no need to go somewhere. You can get all the qualified aid here. All the tasks posed by the head of state in the framework of the “100 schools, 100 hospitals”, are fully implemented.
A lot of young professionals arrived to work in this hospital. A graduate of the Semipalatinsk Medical Academy Aigul Tumarbekova received material assistance, but she had some housing difficulties. The problem was solved after a "direct link" with the President.
Aigul Tumarbekova doctor:
- Now I have my own home, my hearth. I'll just work and work in the future. Many thanks to the President. On this festive day I would like to wish him good health.
Housewarming is celebrated also and in Pavlodar: doctors, police officers and children left without parental care received flats. In honor of the nation's main holiday dozens of new social and industrial facilities are opened in these days in the region.
