Opening of social facilities to Independence Day

Shymkent, December 19, 2009 (Khabar) - Shymkent witnessed the opening of several social units. The dendropark was founded 30 years ago and since then has become one of the favorite places for leisure. The money for the restoration was allocated as part of the Road Map programme, as well as businessmen of the region helped a lot.

Berik Ospanov, first deputy head of South Kazakhstan region:
- Next year it is planned to allocated 257 million tenge for finishing the work in the park. The park will be equipped with the footpath around the lake and a newlyweds’ path with a 9 metre waterfall, which will fall into the lack.

The residents of Shymkent also witnessed the opening of an ice palace, which was placed in the fully reconstructed building of the Sport Palace. The construction of the professional arena required 404 million tenge, with a third being sponsor’s assistance.

Mukan Yegizbayev, member of South Kazakhstan regional council:
- Due to independence of our country and wise policy of our president, we were able to construct this sport complex. Usually in summer it is very hot but due to this ice arena our children will be able to skate and place hockey even in summer.

Solemn meeting was held here in honor of Independence Day and then the city residents enjoyed the real ice show prepared by Shymkent’s athletes.
