Parliamentary support for people with special needs stressed

Manama, April 7 (BNA)-- Representatives Council Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla has underscored the parliamentary support to all steps taken to boost citizens' welfare and provide care for people with special needs. He asserted the parliament's keenness to press ahead with the efforts made to pass legislations aimed at catering for the needs of people with special needs and providing assistance for them to further boost their role in the community. He urged relevant ministries and specialised human rights organisations to follow on this issue. The Representatives Council Speaker was speaking as he took part in a celebration organised by Bahrain Tafaol Centre at the University of Bahrain marking the World Autism Awareness Day. The celebration was attended by Representatives Council members Khalid Al Shaer and Abdul Hamid Al Najjar as well as the Tunisian Ambassador to Bahrain and officials from ministries and schools.
