Performance about akyn Turmagambet Iztileuov
Kyzylorda, December 19, 2009 (Khabar) - The play about life, work and difficult fate of the legendary Kazakh akyn, termeshi Turmagambet Iztileuova was staged in Kyzylorda. Despite the fact that for a long time the name of the repressed poet was banned, today his works are known and loved by readers. He extolled the beauty of his native land and the courage of the people in his works. In addition, he wrote about the need to be independent and free. "Some day people will find out about my poems. I will not see this, but I am not sorry about it " wrote akyn Turmagambet Iztileuov. His words became prophetic. He was born in the Syrdarya district and he studied in Bukhara, learned the Arabic, Persian and Turkish languages. It is to him we owe the translation of the poem "Shakhname" by great Ferdowsi into Kazakh language. But the main theme of all the works of Turmagambet Iztileuov was love for the motherland and people. In 1930-s he was declared an enemy of the people and was taken into custody. He was released from prison on bail, and in May 1939 died at his home.
Ontalap Nurmakhanov, director of performance:
- We wanted to show how he dreamed of independence into which he believed. His poetry did not died with him, they came to our days.
Playwright Iran Gaiyp, director Ontalap Nurmakhanov and the actors managed to recreate on stage the time when Turmagambet Iztileuov lived and worked. The spectators saw a simple man with a hard life, faced with a lack of understanding and the harsh rules of a new life. But he remained true to his beliefs, ideals and his love for Kazakhstan.
The play also shows the tragic fate of Temirbek Zhurgenov, Saken Seifullin and Mirzhakyp Dulatov. They also sacrificed themselves for freedom and independence of the country. After all, they believed this day would come. The staging ends with a film about contemporary Kazakhstan.
Iran Gaiyp, poet, laureate of State Prize of RK:
- Turmagambet himself said all Kazakhs who died in the name of people, died in the name of independence. He wrote: he who respects his independence, is truly happy.
In the 1990-s scientist Berik Zhusipov published a collection of works by Turmagambet Iztileuov, which included more than 400 verses and poems. The two-volume edition of the poem "Shakhname" in the Kazakh and Arabic languages was published as well.
