Qatar Hosts General Assembly of the Asian Snooker Federation Thursday

Doha, September 15 (QNA) - Doha will host the General Assembly of the Asian Snooker Confederation on Thursday Sep. 16, on the sidelines of the 36th Asian Snooker Championship in singles, hosted by Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation, with the participation of 21 players representing 19 countries.
The agenda will witness a renewal of confidence in the current council due to the absence of candidates for the scheduled elections. The Assembly agreed to renew confidence in the members of the Federation, namely: Mohammed Salem Al Nuaimi (Qatar) as President, Alan Gere (Pakistan) as Vice-President, Michael Khoury (Syria) as Secretary General, and Joseph Lu (Hong Kong) Treasurer.
President of the International Snooker Federation, Mubarak Al Khayarin, said in a statement today, that the elections of the Asian Snooker Confederation have so far been uncontested due to the absence of another list against the list of Mohammed Salem Al Nuaimi, which includes a distinguished group of members, as well as it has worked well during its tenure on the development of the Asian Snooker significantly.
More than 20 countries are expected to participate in the General Assembly, which is the total of the participating countries in the Asian Championship, as well as some countries that will attend later, whether to participate in the World or Gulf Championships.
The meeting tomorrow will discussing many topics related to the future of snooker, as well as reviewing and making decisions on many proposals. (QNA)
