Sheikha Fatima awarded honorary Doctorate from Dankook University of South Korea

Seoul - Sept 30, 2012 (WAM) - Dankook University of South Korea has awarded honorary doctorate degree in education to H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of General Women's Union, and of the Family Development Foundation and Chairwoman of Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood. The degree was awarded to Sheikha Fatima in recognition of her distinguished role in supporting women's progress in particular and also for supporting social work and education in general. Dr. Maytha Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State received the degree on behalf of Sheikha Fatima during a ceremony held at the university and was attended by academics, students, Arab ambassadors and the Board of Directors of the University along with its president. In a speech during the ceremony, Dr. Maytha conveyed thanks and appreciation of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima for the university. Meanwhile, Hosung Chang, President of Dankook University, on the occasion hailed Sheikh Fatima's distinguished role in the progress of UAE's women and the expansion of the Arab women's education. He also expressed Dankook University's wishes to enhance cooperation and to strengthen mutual friendship with the UAE and other Arab and Middle East countries, particularly in the areas of culture and education. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
