Tehran center to hold Mohammad Ehsaii retrospective

TEHRAN,Feb.1(MNA) – Tehran’s Art Center will be holding a retrospective on the world famous artist Mohammad Ehsaii in an exhibition opening on Friday. Ehsaii’s 30 artworks including paintings, graphic designs and calligraphic-paintings will go on show at the exhibit. A documentary featuring the life and works of Ehsaii will also be screened during the exhibit until February 14 at the center located on 1716 Shariati Ave., near Sadr Bridge. The 72-year old Ehsaii is known as the pioneer of Iranian contemporary art. Ehsaii is a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Tehran University. He was a friend of late Morteza Momayyez, known as the father of Iranian graphic art and a close friend of artist Aidin Aghdashlu. He played a major role in establishing the course of graphic design for the students of the faculty. His calligraphy works with the central theme of Allah began in 1975, which he regards a type of pictorial praise of God. Several foundations and art centers’ logo designs have been created by Ehsaii. He has taken part in many solo and group exhibits in Iran and many other countries. His masterpieces have always been among the highlights in the world auctions.
