Tehran gallery mounts exhibit of Georgian artist

TEHRAN,Jan.30(MNA) -- A collection of appliqués by a Georgian has been showcased in an exhibition at the Sareban Gallery in Tehran.
Ana Kalatozishvili has brought 26 appliqués from her latest works to the show, which has been organized by the Georgian Embassy in Tehran.
Kalatozishvili has her own unique style, she said during the opening ceremony of the exhibit on Friday. However, she deems herself indebted to Iranian art and culture.
“I was inspired by Iranian art when I was a young adult.
“When I was studying art at university, I learned that I have been captivated by Iranian aesthetics.
“I am really free in creating artworks and I let all my thoughts find their ways into my works.
“Through this process, the impact of Iranian aesthetics can be observed, or perhaps it is my personal perception.”
The exhibition runs until February 1 at the gallery located at 8 Mehmandust Alley, off Sabunchi St., off Shahid Beheshti Ave
