Thai university to host Iranian cultural week in February

TEHRAN,Dec. 1 (MNA)-- Chulalongkorn University of Thailand will be hosting Iranian cultural week in February 2012. Iranian cultural attaché in Thailand Jalal Tamleh recently met with the university’s academic director Julis Pong where they discussed different programs arranged for the week. Iranian film screenings, exhibition of books and photos, live music performances, and samples of Iranian cuisine are offered during the week. Also included is the award presentation ceremony arranged for the winner of the article written on Sheikh Ahmad Qomi. Sheikh Ahmad Qomi (1543-1631) was an Iranian scholar who traveled to Thailand 400 years ago for business and then was appointed to a very high position in the country’s royal court. Iranian academics are also expected to deliver speeches on Iran’s achievements over the past 33 years during the week.
