Vienna to host Iranian Film Week

TEHRAN,Jan.29(MNA) -- Vienna will be playing host to the Iranian Film Week, which will open on February 2. Iran’s Visual Media Institute and the Iranian cultural attaché’s office in the Austrian capital have jointly organized the program. The week will open with a screening of “Mr. Yusef”, a family drama by stage and screen director Ali Rafiei, Iranian cultural attaché Alireza Malekian told on Saturday. Feature films, including “Canaan” directed by Mani Haqiqi, “Tonight Is a Moonlit Night” by Mohammad-Hadi Karimi, “M for Mother” by Rasul Mollaqolipur, “So Far, So Close” by Reza Mirkarimi, and “In the Name of Father” by Ebrahim Hatamikia, will be screened during the week. In addition, “Birth of a Butterfly” by Mojtaba Raei, “Here without Me” by Bahram Tavakkolian, “The Crossroads” by Abolhassan Davudi, “Killer” by Reza Karimi, and “Adam’s Son, Eve’s Daughter” by Rambod Javan are scheduled to be shown during the program. The organizers also plan to screen three documentary films including “Hands and Whispers” directed by Babak Behdad and “An Angel on My Right Shoulder” by Azadeh Bizargiti. Ladan Mostofi, a cast member of “Mr. Yusef”, and “Tonight Is a Moonlit Night” director Mohammad-Hadi Karimi will attend the program.
