Zayed Giving Initiative achieves one million hours of volunteer work locally and globally

Abu Dhabi, June 7, 2012 (WAM) - The "Zayed Giving Initiative" has achieved one million hours of volunteer work locally and globally over the past 10 years in different health, educational, environmental and cultural fields. The initiative was launched under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of General Women's Union, and of Family Development Foundation and Chairwoman of Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood. Secretary-General of the Arab Federation for Voluntary Work Yusuf Al -Kazim said UAE had presented a perfect model in the field of voluntary work through adopting a number of initiatives, motivating and encouraging community groups on various volunteer work. He also hailed the efforts of Sheikha Fatima in the field of youth empowerment for effective participation in voluntary work. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
