‘Muslims control world’s strategic waterways’

TEHRAN, Jan. 30 (MNA) – A senior military advisor to the Supreme Leader said Muslims have control over the strategic waterways in the world and thereby they can “control the world economy”.
Major General Yahya Rahim-Safavi said more than 80 percent of the world trade is done through sea and commercial ships must pass the world’s strategic waterways which are controlled by Muslim countries on each side and therefore it “can be said that Muslims control the world economy.”
Rahim-Safavi, the former commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, went on to say that the Islamic states also hold about 57 percent of the world’s proven gas reserves and Iran in particular possesses the second largest gas resources in the world.
