2 Iranian fishermen freed from Qatari jail

TEHRAN, Jan.17 (MNA) – Following intensive efforts by the Iranian embassy in Doha the two Iranian fishermen, who had been arrested by Qatar’s coast guards for illegally crossing the country’s sea borders, were released and returned to home. According to the Iranian embassy in Doha, 95 Iranian fishermen, who had been arrested for illegal border crossing, have been released from Qatari prisons since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2011).
