Abu Dhabi keen to expand ties with Tehran: UAE foreign minister

TEHRAN, March 1 (MNA) – UAE Foreign Affairs Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that Abu Dhabi is keen to expand relations with Tehran. The UAE foreign minister made the remarks during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in Tehran on Wednesday. He said that his country will make every effort to remove all obstacles in the way of the expansion of ties with the Islamic Republic in all spheres. He added Iran's progress will have an effect on the entire region. Salehi stated that close relations between the two countries will benefit all regional countries. The Iranian foreign minister also expressed hope that Iran and the UAE would increase their cooperation in various areas, saying the result of his counterpart’s trip to Tehran could pave the way for further cooperation. Salehi went on to say that consultations between the two countries on regional developments should continue with the aim of improving the situation in regional countries.
