Ahmadinejad appoints members of supervisory constitutional board

TEHRAN, March 10 (MNA) - In a decree issued on Wednesday Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad appointed members of a board tasked to supervise a proper implementation of the constitution as a national covenant. Some members of the board are: First Vice President Mohammadreza Rahimi, Vice President for Strategic Planning and Supervision Ibrahim Azizi, Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs Mohammadreza Mirtajedini, and Justice Minister Morteza Bakhtiari. In part of his decree the president states that the purpose behind the establishment of the supervisory board is to monitor a proper implementation of the constitution and report to the president if any terms of the constitution are violated. The president also said necessary grounds should be prepared for a public monitoring of the constitution.
