Al Qubaisi stresses importance of joint cooperation with EU-UAE Parliament Friendship Group

BRUSSELS, 4th May, 2016 (WAM) -- Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council, FNC, has stressed the importance of joint cooperation between FNC and the EU-UAE Parliament Friendship Group in the light of the growing challenges witnessed by the countries of the region such as spread of terrorism, terrorist organisations and political instability in some Arab countries. "We in the UAE share our region with the interests and motives of stability, security and development," Dr. Al Qubais said at a banquet hosted by UAE-European Parliament Friendship Group at the European Parliament, EP, in Brussels, which was attended by a number of FNC members. Suleiman Hamed Salem Al Mazrouei, the UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Head of the UAE Mission to European Union, EU, was also present on the occasion. Antonio Lopez-Isturiz White, President of the EU-UAE Parliamentary Friendship Group represented the European side. Members of the EU-UAE Parliamentary Friendship Group welcomed Dr. Al Qubaisi and her accompanying delegation, stressing the importance of the her visit which gave explanation for a number of issues discussed during the multiple meetings with the officials and heads of parties in EP. Dr. Al Qubaisi stressed that the UAE embodies a unique model of coexistence between nations and races. "UAE hosts more than 200 nationalities who are living in in peace and harmony. It internal and external policies uphold principles of tolerance, dialogue and openness, as well as cooperation with various nations and cultures," she said.
