Angolan FM: UN Should Undergo Reforms

Tehran, Aug 30, IRNA – Foreign Minister of Angola, Manuel Avgusto, says the UN should undergo reform. Talking to the press, including IRNA, on the sidelines of the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), Avgusto said, “UN needs to undergo reform. It is a goal.” He lauded Iran’s grave role as the NAM president in the coming three years, saying Iran has the potential to run the movement in the next three years. He also welcomed economic plans of NAM regarding the GDP of the members. He said the NAM members should play more active role within the organization and take concrete measures for materialization of their objectives. He said the current summit is held at a critical moment and it is of high importance./end
