Ayatollah Mahdavi Kani, Yazdi throw weight behind United Front of Principlists’ candidates

TEHRAN, Feb. 21 (MNA) – The Combatant Clergy Association and the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom issued a joint statement on Monday expressing support for the candidates fielded by the United Front of Principlists for the March 2 parliamentary election. The statement was signed by two prominent principlist figures, namely Ayatollah Mohammad Reza Mahdavi Kani, the secretary general of the Combatant Clergy Association, and Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi, the chairman of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom and a member of the association. In the statement, Mahdavi Kani and Yazdi also called on the electorate to turn out in large numbers for the election.
