FM: Iran supports Uzbekistan security, stability

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian offered Iran’s support for security and stability in Uzbekistan. Speaking in a phone call with Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Imamovich Norov, Amirabdollahian said that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not accept Uzbekistan’s unity to be tarnished. Thanks to the efforts made by the two sides, bilateral relations are developing, Amirabdollahian. He noted that Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf is to visit Uzbekistan soon. Meanwhile, Norov appreciated Iran’s principled positions regarding the recent developments in Uzbekistan and support for unity in this country, saying that the constitutional reform process has started and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has discussed the issue with the people of Uzbekistan.
