Gargash hails UAE- Libyan ties

Tripoli - Jan 18, 2012 (WAM) - Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, State Minister for Foreign Affairs arrived in the Libyan Capital, Tripoli, yesterday afternoon, heading the UAE's high profile delegation, including the public institutions and private sector representatives, in a two-day visit.
The visit coincides with the launch of Etihad Airways flights, which will weekly fly three trips between Abu Dhabi and Tripoli.
Gargash was received at the Tripoli International Airport by Libyan Transport Minister Yousef Al Wahaishi, Libyan Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz, UAE Ambassador to Libya Sultan Rashid Al Ketoub, senior officials and Libyan businesspersons.
The UAE minister greeted the Libyan leadership, the National Transitional Council, Government and people about the success of the February 17 Revolution. He told Emirates News Agency (WAM) in a statement that the he hopes brothers in Libya will honour the martyrs and strive very hard to help Libya occupy its position among the developed countries.
Gargash hailed the stronger UAE-Libyan ties, stressing the support of UAE to the Libyan people to develop their country in all fields. He added that the launch of Etihad Airways will further boost the cooperation ties between the two peoples.
The Libyan Transport Minister welcomed the visiting UAE delegation, commending the historic stance of the UAE leadership and people, which would not be forgotten by the Libyan people, citing the UAE's support to the Libyan people during their revolution to liberate Libya. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
