Iran determined to cement ties with Azerbaijan :Iranian FM

TEHRAN,March 13(MNA)--In a meeting with Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Abiyev on Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that Tehran is determined to consolidate ties with Baku. He also emphasized the need to avoid making controversial remarks and to clear up misunderstandings and said that the two countries should make every effort to deepen relations because close ties would be in favor of both countries. Commenting on sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic by the Western countries, especially by the United States, Salehi said that the sanctions, threats, and plots against Iran have their roots in the country’s support for the oppressed people of Palestine.
