Iran puts voter turnout around 65 percent

TEHRAN, March 3 (MNA) – Interior Ministry announced on Saturday that initial results show that about 64.2 percent of eligible voters took part in the parliamentary elections on Friday. “Initial assessments indicate that participation across the country has been around 64.2 percent,” Interior Ministry Mostafa Mohammad Najjar told reporters. He also put the percentage of voter participation in Tehran at 52 percent. The mainstream United Front of Principlists has emerged as the best vote getter in the metropolis of Tehran.
