Iran, Russia use domestic currencies in trade ties

TEHRAN,Jan.21(MNA)--Iran and Russia have started using domestic rial and rouble currencies in bilateral trade instead of the U.S. dollar, Tehran's ambassador to Moscow announced on Friday. "(Trade) is based on our national currencies," Ambassador Reza Sajjadi said. "We started this work long ago. Iranian businessmen are buying products in Russia and are using the rouble as (payment) currency," Reuters quoted Sajjadi as telling a news conference.
