Iranian MP Alaeddin Boroujerdi is reelected

QOM, March 3 (MNA) – Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the current chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, was reelected as lawmaker from the western city of Boroujderd, Lorestan province. It is the fourth time that Boroujerdi wins parliamentary election in the city. Boroujerdi was supported by the mainstream United Front of Principlists in the parliamentary campaigns. The city of Boroujderd is represented by two MPs in the parliament. The competition for the election of the second person led to a run-off. Boroujerdi, a former diplomat, has been the head of the Majlis security committee for two consecutive times. He is expected to be reelected as the chairman of the committee in the next parliament which begins its work in late spring
