Iranian security chief says hegemons are fearful of model Iran

TEHRAN,Feb.1 (MNA) – Imperialist countries fear Iran serving as a model for other nations, rather than its nuclear program, said the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. Saeed Jalili made the remarks during a meeting with Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Ramadan Abdullah Shallah in Tehran on Tuesday. He said, “Today, we are witnessing the revival of religious concepts in political, economic, and cultural areas,” adding that the “hegemonistic powers” are less worried about Iran’s nuclear program and more about Iran’s potential to inspire fellow nations. Jalili emphasized the importance of resistance movements in precipitating an Islamic Awakening, and said that Palestine is the common cause for the Muslim world and the main source of its synergy. During the meeting, Abdullah hailed the Islamic Republic as a powerful Muslim country and a supporter of the resistance movement, and said that Iran has been “a shining light” for Islamic movements in the region since the Islamic Revolution.
