Iran`s Ahvaz steel plant managing director arrested over fraud case

TEHRAN, Dec. 20 (MNA) – The managing director of Ahvaz steel plant was arrested in connection with the recent $2.6 billion financial fraud case, Iranian Judiciary spokesman Gholam Hossein Mohseni-Ejei announced on Monday. He also said that Interpol has been asked to prosecute Mahmoud Reza Khavari, the former managing director of Bank Melli who has fled to Canada. Elsewhere in his remarks, he dismissed news reports claiming that MP Alaeddin Boroujerdi has been arrested in connection with the case and said, “He had not been arrested, but rather he had been summoned.”
