Power shifting in favor of resistance movement in region: Iranian security official

TEHRAN, Feb. 28 (MNA) – The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said that the balance of power in the region is shifting in favor of the resistance movement. “Thanks to Lebanon’s role, regional balance of power is changing in favor of the resistance and against the Zionist regime,” SNSC Secretary Saeed Jalili stated during a meeting with Lebanese Minister of National Defense Fayez Ghosn in Tehran on Monday. “Lebanon’s role in resistance against the enemies is exemplary,” Jalili said. Elsewhere in his remarks, Jalili commented on the victory of Lebanon over the Zionist regime during the 33-day war in 2006 and said that Lebanon is the first Arab country which could make Israel suffer a defeat. For his part, the Lebanese defense minister said that the hegemonistic powers’ bloc regards the resistance movement as a “thorn in its eye” and is making efforts to undermine it.
