Remains of 178 Iranian, Iraqi soldiers found

TEHRAN, Feb. 18 (MNA) – Iranian and Iraqi search parties have discovered the remains of 178 Iranian and Iraqi soldiers killed during the war in the 1980s in the Faw peninsula in the extreme southeast of Iraq, a representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Iraq said. In 2008, Iran, Iraq, and the ICRC started implementing a joint plan to determine the fate of the soldiers who went missing during the war and since then the fate of 2500 missing Iranian soldiers has been decided.
