Sanctions will leave Westerners empty-handed : Iran FM official

TEHRAN,Feb.8(MNA)-- “Sanctions cannot have an impact on our nation’s resolve to achieve their rights,” Iran`s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said, adding," no country and no power has the right and capability to ignore the rights of a great nation like the Iranian nation". The sanctions will only leave those who impose them empty-handed, he said, noting, “You can intimate a nation and a people until you have not taken a measure. But when you exhaust your potential to impose sanctions on a nation, and the people continue their path with more determination and more serious resolve, this indicates that you do not have adequate capability and power to halt the movement of that nation.” He also said that the pre-election atmosphere currently gripping the United States has led to the adoption of more sanctions on the Islamic Republic.
