Turkish FM meets Iraqi lawmakers and former foreign secretary of Britain
ANKARA (A.A) - February 29, 2012 - Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu separately received Iraqi lawmakers and Jack Straw, former foreign secretary of Britain, in Ankara on Wednesday.
Diplomatic officials said that Davutoglu informed Iraqi lawmakers about Turkey's policy on Iraq, stating that Turkey attached a great importance to stability, democracy and peace in Iraq. Turkey was determined to improve political and economic ties with Iraq, he said.
Turkish businessmen would continue their activities in Iraq, Davutoglu added.
Meanwhile in his meeting with Jack Straw, co-chairman of Turkey-Britain Tatlidil --Turkish for "sweet talk"-- Forum, Davutoglu said that Tatlidil Forum was a comprehensive project for boosting cooperation and dialogue between intellectuals, businessmen, and representatives of media and NGOs from Turkey and Britain.
Straw informed Davutoglu about preparations of a meeting of the forum that will be held in Turkey.
