Western officials’ remarks are propagandistic:Iranian FM

TEHRAN, Feb.20 (MNA)-- During a joint press conference with Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Samuel Santos López in Tehran on Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi was asked to comment on British Foreign Secretary William Hague’s remarks on February 18, in which he claimed Iran’s drive to get nuclear weapons will plunge the world into “a new Cold War.” “One of the methods to exert pressure on our country is the intensification of media pressure. Remarks being made by Western officials are mostly propagandistic and meant to create a vitriolic media atmosphere. They think they can cause concerns through creating such an atmosphere,” he said. He also said that the Westerners have an “arrogant” nature, and “have not yet learned to take steps regarding their political interactions with logic and tact.”
