Bahrain praised for top organisation of Asian U20 Volleyball
Manama, July 22 (BNA): Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) President Saleh bin Nasser has praised Bahrain for its efforts in organising the ongoing 19th Asian Men’s U20 Volleyball Championship.
His comments came in a meeting with Bahrain Volleyball Association (BVA) President Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa on the evening of the opening day of the competition, being held at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
Bin Nasser and Shaikh Ali exchanged commemorative shields as tokens of appreciation from both the AVC and BVA.
Also attending the presentation were AVC General Secretary Chang Chin Jong and BVA Vice-President and Local Organising Committee Executive Director JehadKhalfan.
Bin Nasser said that he is pleased with how the tournament has been run so far, with the warm welcome from the airport and the abrupt assistance conveyed to each of the participating nations. He added that he hopes to see more of the same over the coming days as the championship heads into its most important games.
Bin Nasser also stressed the importance of Asian nations making the most of their experience competing in such championships, as it can only benefit their country’s volleyball programme. Bin Nasser added that he hopes to someday increase the number of Asian participants at world championship-level tournaments.
At the end of the meeting, bin Nasser also met the members of the tournament’s Media Committee.
