Football: Al Sadd Begin Title Defense with Big Win

Doha, August 21 (QNA) - Al Sadd began their QNB Stars League campaign with a big 4-1 wing against Al Wakra at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium. Abdulaziz Ansari opened the scoring in the 9th minute. The floodgates opened in the final 15 minutes when Abdul Kareem Hussein scored in the 74th minute while Ahmed Sayyar added a brace in the 85th and 89th minute. Al Wakra had equalized earlier through Mohammed Benyettou in the 26th minute. Al Wakrah had to play the majority of the match with 10 players, as Ali Malallah was sent off in the 15th minute. Al Sadd is looking to defend their title, and they couldn't have made a better start with the win. The league's opening round continues with the match between Qatar and Al Duhail later today. (QNA)
