German gold medalist set to become Iran swimming coach

TEHRAN,Feb.15(MNA)-- Jorg Woithe has reached a preliminary agreement with the Iranian Swimming Federation to coach the team. The 49-year-old German, who won the gold medal in the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, will have to offer his plans to the Iranian officials and they will decide whether to ink a contract with him. “We have many options but we think Woithe is the best among them. He will prepare our swimmers for the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea and the 2016 Olympic Games,” an official of Iran Swimming Federation said.
