Iran Paralympics delegation named Delvar

TEHRAN,Feb.9(MNA) – The Iran National Paralympic Committee announced on Wednesday that the Iranian delegation will take part in the 2012 Paralympic Games under the name of 'Delvar', after Rais Ali Delvari. Rais Ali Delvari was a national hero of southern Iran, who organized a popular resistance against British troops, which had invaded Iran in 1915. In another development, Abdolreza Jokar was named as flag bearer for Iran at the opening ceremony of the Paralympics. The 2012 Summer Paralympic Games is the will fourteenth event of its kind and will take place between 29 August and 9 September 2012 in London, United Kingdom.
